October 16th, 2021 – We are happy to announce that we have added two members to our team! Tharnia Thavalis is our administrative assistant with a specific role in finance, while Cathy Tran is our administrative assistant with a specific role in communications. August 19th, 2021 – We are looking for an administrative assistant to join our team!

The person must be a student from a Canadian university for the upcoming year (preferably for the next two years). The person must have a good knowledge of the Office Suite, at least a basic knowledge of French as a second language, know how to work as part of a team, be motivated, and above all, have lots of good ideas!

February 28th, 2021 – The registration period is from March 1st to April 16th, 2021. Due to the pandemic, we strongly recommend that you pay for your registration through our online platform. However, should you wish to pay by cash, cheque or e-transfer, these options are also available. Please note that a proof of enrollment is required to benefit from the student price.

2021 CUFFS Meeting Format

February 23rd, 2021 – Due to the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic in Quebec, the organizing committee has decided to host the CUFFS conference virtually! All presentations and networking will be done in real-time through Zoom. 

Despite a different format this year, we look forward to learning more about the latest research in forensic sciences and connecting with all our delegates! Visit our “2021 Meeting” tab for all the conference details!

Call for Abstracts

December 22nd, 2020 – Abstract submission opens January 1st and closes January 31st, 2021. Following our theme of novelties in forensic science, presentation topics may include: the development of new techniques, the use of new technologies, the improvement of past methods, etc.

Into the Future : CUFFS’ 2021 Meeting

December 3rd, 2020 – We are very proud to officially announce that CUFFS will be hosting its second conference on April 23rd & 24th, 2021! The format of the conference will be determined in upcoming months according to sanitary measures. Should an in-person event be authorized, the conference will take place at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.

CUFFS Is Now Incorporated!

September 9th, 2020 – It is with great pleasure that we announce that after many months of hard work, Canadian Universities for Forensic Science is now officially incorporated federally as a non-profit organization!

COVID-19 Initiatives

March 19th, 2020 – CUFFS is very proud to witness student initiatives from its former delegates during this COVID-19 pandemic. We would therefore like to follow in the footsteps of the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR)’s Laboratoire de recherche en criminalistique (LRC) in sharing the measures undertaken by Mylène Falardeau, a graduate of the UQTR’s Bachelor’s in Chemistry (Criminalistics Profile) and currently a Master’s student in Chemistry.
