Frédérique Ouimet, BSc

Frédérique jointed the team as the UQTR local coordinator for the CUFFS 2023 conference.

Frédérique has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (Criminalistics Profile) and is currently a master’s student in Chemistry under the supervision of Professor Shari Forbes. Her project consists in profiling volatile organic compounds from human bones at the Research on Experimental and Social Thanatology (REST[ES]) site. This profile is then compared to the training tools used by the Ontario Provincial Police to train cadaver dogs.

During her university career, Frédérique has been in contact with several fields of forensic science, such as forensic entomology and forensic taphonomy, and has participated in a study related to the impact of scavengers present in Quebec in an open environment.
